This west coast battler has been in boxing since the age of 16, while a student at high school in Los Angeles.  He was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard 21/2 years.   His first ring engagements were as a middleweight.  Has since trimmed down to the lightweight mark.  Recently defeated lightweight champion, James Carter, in an overweight bout.
