Biographical Dictionary - Printed dictionaries are useful only if you know a person's last name and want other information. But if you want to know who wrote The Grapes of Wrath or who discovered the greenhouse effect, or you want a list of cartoonists or past presidents of Somalia, a paper dictionary won't help, whereas this dictionary will give you those answers immediately. And it's up to date. Names can be entered as last name only, first name plus last name, or first initial plus last name. If you come up empty, try the Spelling Wizard which will try to find names in the dictionary with similar spellings. Your results produce birth and death years, occupation and major accomplishments.
Biographies - This sitecontains data regarding historical persons related to American History. * marks sites with extensive biographies while # indicates a literary biography. The coverage is spotty but you will find good biographies here.
Biography.com - Choose from over 20,000 famous people including movie stars, inventors, government officials, aviators, living and dead. Biographies include birth and death years, name pronunciation and a paragraph about the persons life and work.
Famous Birthdays - A very large list of birth dates of the famous and not so famous is presented here. The database can be searched by name, date or year. Click on Sports Birthdays to access a list of sites with potential to provide you with the birthday of your favorite sports star. Or choose Todays Famous Birthdays if your patron needs to know who was born on todays date.
Prominent African Americans - From Maya Angelou to Malcolm X. From Barbara Jordan to B.B. King. Look here for great biographical information on famous and not-so-famous prominent African Americans. The site includes one annotated main link for each person and generally lists a few others to try for further information.
Comic Art & Graffix Gallery Artist Biographies - Biographies of some of the most famous comic artists, including Charles Schulz, Robert Crumb, and Bob Kane. Each biography lists birth and death dates and places, work history, accomplishments and interesting facts. They contain illustrations of comic characters and covers of comic books created by the artists. This is just one section of a site devoted to comic art history.
National Gallery of Art Artists Index - You will not find much biographical information here but if you are trying to identify an artist, this may help. Artists with works in the National Gallery of Art are listed alphabetically with birth and death years and nationality along with links to reproductions of some of their works. If you prefer to search for an artists name, select the Search button on the left side of the screen and enter the artists last name or keywords from the title of a particular work. Or try Expanded Search to add a particular school, style, year, medium and/or subject, each with a pull-down menu.
WebMuseum, Paris Artist Index - are a couple of Americans) with biographical information as well as art reproductions. If all your Michelangelo or Leonardo da Vinci books are checked out, give this site a try. Both of those pages have excellent information and photographs of their work. Other artists covered that may help your students include Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, and Paul Klee. The names are simply listed alphabetically.
World Wide Arts Resources Artists Index - This site provides access to the imagery of over 8,000 registered artists. You may browse an alphabetic listing of artist names or browse by period, medium or category of art. You may also perform a keyword search. Leads to pages with links to individual artists, contemporary as well as historical, that have been catalogued in alphabetic order. Results vary but this may be the perfect tool to find that obscure artist for your patron.
ASTRONAUTS AND AVIATORS
American Airpower Biography - Compiled by a U.S. Air Force Colonel, here are the stories of over 30 of America's greatest military airmen. Some are told by themselves, others by biographers, some have been published, and some have not. Individuals included here are military officers who served in senior positions. "Thus, although the stories of great aviators like Eddie Rickenbacker, Charles Lindbergh, and Chuck Yeager are important, they did not command large forces in combat nor in peace and had only a temporary effect on the development of strategy and doctrine." Each biography includes a photo of the aviator and interesting and useful information. The Colonel includes the source of the information and often remarks on the source itself. In the list of anthologies that follows the biography section, you will find other sources to try for further information.
Inventors Gallery - From a virtual museum covering the invention of the airplane, this particular section focuses on significant inventors in the aviation field. Includes birth and death dates and contributions to aviation history. There are photos of the inventors and planes they were associated with on most of the pages. There are also reprints of journal articles on certain aviators. Simply select from the alphabetic list to find fascinating information about Wilbur and Orville Wright and their many unknown peers. The Wright page includes many photos, sections from a diary, links to journal articles and a bibliography along with their story.
NASA Astronaut Biographies - Provided by the Johnson Space Center, you can get detailed biographical material on contemporary astronauts working for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration as well as U.S. payload specialists and Russian cosmonauts. Each biography includes personal information, education, organizational affiliates, special honors, and work experiences. Simply select from the alphabetic listing of NASA astronauts or perform a keyword search by clicking on Biography Search. You can also check out photos of several shuttle crews.
Authors Pen - From Book Stacks, this commercial site provides links to information on over 820 authors with one or more homepages plus interviews, biographies and complete bibliographies for each listed author. You will find reviews of contemporary authors' work as well as biographical information and more on classical writers. From Tom Clancy to Edith Wharton, this site will help you help your students with their literature assignments and your adult readers with readers advisory. Simply select from the alphabetic listing.
Book Lovers Great Writers - Here you can find out about Nobel, Pulitzer and other literary award winners as well as connect to sites on individual authors. From the early twentieth century Japanese author, Ryunosuke Akutagawa, to Thomas Wolfe, the webmaster includes only quality sites on what he considers major world authors. Some sites focus on the writers work only but many include significant biographical material.
Celebration of Women Writers - The webmasters attempt to provide a comprehensive list of links to biographical and bibliographical information about women writers. Browse by author name, century, or country. The lists include many women writers not hyperlinked with no information except birth and death years. Many names, however, have several links attached. For instance, there is a biographical site on Willa Cather as well as links to texts of seven of her works. There are thousands of names listed here. Check it out!

Childrens Authors and Illustrators - Does a student need more information on R.L. Stine or Madeleine LEngle? Maybe Nathaniel Hawthorne or C.S. Lewis? Try this site which links to web sites on individual childrens authors and illustrators. Includes links to over 90 authors!
The Literary Menagerie - This is one of the most outstanding literary sites out there. Many of the authors covered are frequent subject requests at our local librariesElizabeth Barrett Browning, Charles Dickens, and Herman Melville. But this site covers Stephen King, Joyce Carol Oates and Kurt Vonnegut, too. Each of the biographical sites linked to is well-rounded, including biographical informaton as well as literary criticism and full-text reprints of works in addition to further links. I was very impressed with this site from the University of Mississippi. Other authors included are Langston Hughes, James Joyce, Doris Lessing, Anne Rice and Virginia Woolf. Use this site to supplement your printed material or when everything is checked out.
LSU Libraries Webliography - From Jane Austen to William Butler Yeats, the Louisiana State University Library has created an index of links to over 70 individual author sites. The webmaster has focused on "literary" authors rather than genre writers. The sites vary but often include biographies, bibliographies, full-text of selected works, photos, reviews and other useful information. Each link includes the authors birth and death years. The Willa Cather site includes biographical information as well as links to information on locations and events related to her work and life.
Native American Authors - Created for the Internet Public Library by five graduate students at the University of Michigan, the Native American Authors resource was envisioned as a way to help people around the world learn about and celebrate the achievements, lives and works of these important authors. Resources used to locate information include printed works, Library of Congress and other online bibliographic databases, as well as the World Wide Web. Focusing on contemporary Native American authors (some historical authors are represented) the sites include bibliographies of published works, biographical information, and links to online resources including interviews, online texts and tribal web sites. Browse an alphabetical list of authors, book titles or tribes.
Poetry Library of Babel - Here you will find over 700 links to poets from around the world. There are poets listed here from the United States as well as England, Finland, Turkey, Romania and many other countries. The site is Finnish so there are an inordinate number of Finnish poets included. The language of the site is noted next to the poets name unless the site is in English. The site warns that many important poets are not represented at all (there are no pages dedicated to them), or some are represented very badly. The webmasters intend to fill in the gaps by creating pages for these poets so this site should get better and better. They are trying to create a collection that contains all the important poetry that is to be found on the Net. Many of these pages contain biographical information, much of it extensive and some with merely birth and death dates. The list is alphabetical so simply select one of the poets. You can find great material on popular poets like Sylvia Plath, Robinson Jeffers, and Rita Dove among others. Some sites contain photographs as well.
Nobel Prize Internet Archive - You can browse this database of biographies either alphabetically or by prize category. Results include name, date of prize, birth and death, accomplishment and an extensive listing of links to information about the winner and his or her work.
Pulitzer Prizes - Brief biographies are available for the most recent winners as well as listings for prize winners since 1917. You can also view the prize winning works of the past three years. Click on Query Form to perform a custom search through the list of Pulitzer Prize winners by year, category, author or explanatory text.
Forbes Corporate America's Most Powerful People - Forbes Magazine's list of the 800 top earners with searchable CEO database. Browse top 25, highest paid, ten wealthiest, or a list of those with lots of company stock.
Forbes Four Hundred Richest People in America - Sort by worth or name or search by worth, home state, age, industry, source of wealth and/or marital status. Results produce net worth at the time the list came out as well as an updated net worth, plus all the statistics and facts listed above and a basic biography. Find out just how much Bill is worth today!
Forbes Worlds Richest People - If you need to know who the youngest billionaire is, try this site. This database can be used on four broad levels. The database programmers at the Forbes Digital Tool have formatted the biographies so they may be searched alphabetically, by net worth, and by nationality. The search engine allows a user to narrow down a search by screening on age, marital status, net worth, or category (coupon clippers, heavy hitters, royalty and heads of state) among others. Your search produces a table with name, country, net worth and source of wealth. Click on the name to get a short biography.
Celebrity Address Emporium - A large list of celebrity addresses. No responsibility is taken for the accuracy of the information, but due to its scope and range it is useful as a source when other more reliable sources provide no information.
CelebSite - Searchable or browsable by name or category. What is offered for each person differs quite a bit. You might find biographical information, web sites, news and fan mail addresses. Produced by Mr. Showbiz, CelebSite provides factual information, news, and links to other sites about celebrities in movies, television, sports, modeling, and music.
Classic TV Biographies Project - This site provides birth, and when appropriate, death dates, along with photographs and some biographical information for a large number of actors and actresses from the Golden Age of Television. The results also include a list of television shows in which the actors were involved and the show dates.
Film100 - Ranked in order, the one hundred most influential people in worldwide cinema history. Many familiar and unfamiliar personalities with in-depth essays on their contributions to film and links for further information. Names appear in order of influence. Select a name for a description of his or her accomplishments and a timeline. The list creators "wanted to celebrate individuals who produced effects that directly or indirectly created changes in the way films are made, seen, distributed, preserved."
InfoSpace Celebrities - An easy to use search engine which provides celebrity addresses, e-mail addresses and links to web sites. The site recommends searching on first names only. A search on "John" produced famous Johns ranging from John Gotti to John Travolta to John Wayne Bobbitt.
Starbuzz - Search for official and fan-created sites to your favorite celebrities. Starbuzz links you to information on over 1,000 stars and to over 2,000 web sites through an alphabetic list. The list is by FIRST name.
TV Guide Motion Picture Database - Based on The Motion Picture Guide, Cinebooks' 23-volume reference set, and Katz's Film Encyclopedia with updates by TV Guide. The database includes the cast, credits and reviews for more than 30,000 movies plus over 750,000 filmographies and biographies of actors, directors and other filmmakers.
List of Dancers - An alphabetic listing of many contemporary ballet dancers from the United States and Europe. This site connects you to biographical information generally containing education, company history, birthdates and more. Click on List of Choreographers for biographies on several famous choreographers including George Balanchine and Martha Graham. You may also select from several ballet companies which also contain biographical information on their past and current dancers.
Dead People Server - " with information as to who has really Rung Down the Curtain and Joined the Choir Invisible, and who's Just Resting." The webmaster gets death dates from almanacs, Entertainment Tonight, Britannica and Pathfinder to name a few resources but doesnt guarantee accuracy. Select from an alphabetic listing to find the dead, from Ansel Adams to Frank Zappa. You get birth and death dates, occupation, cause of death, if known, and other miscellaneous information. Some names are hyperlinked to other sites and you will see an IMDB icon by some celebrities' names. These link you to a biography of that person in the Internet Movie Database. An interesting feature is the inclusion of live folks on the Dead People Server.
Find a Grave - If you need to find the location of a famous persons final resting place, this site is the place to start. Search by name, location, or claim to fame to find the name of the cemetery and city and state or country. If the name is hyperlinked, click on it for photos of the tombstone. Click on the name of the cemetery and/or the state for a list of other famous people buried there. Extremely useful for reference and for fun!
Texas State Cemetery - This is the place to go if you are looking for famous deceased Texans who are buried at the Texas State Cemetery. Barbara Jordan, J. Frank Dobie, Texas Rangers, past Governors, signers of the Texas Declaration of Independence and more. Not only do you get a biography and birth and death dates and places but you get the burial site location, tombstone inscription and sentiments and links to articles, photos and documents related to the individual. Select Master List of Burials for an alphabetic list of all the deceased held here or choose Most Famous Texans.

The American Presidency - Looking for the inaugural address of President John F. The American Presidency web site has the answers to all your questions. Brought to you by Grolier Online, the American Presidency is a comprehensive web site on the history of the presidents, the presidency, politics, and government. The biographical information on this site is provided by three encyclopedias: The New Book of Knowledge (grades 3-8), The Academic American Encyclopedia (grades 5-adult), and Encyclopedia Americana (grades 6-adult). These encyclopedias offer detailed biographies on the presidents, cabinet members during each term, and a bibliography of related readings. This site also offers a complete list of historical presidential election results from 1789 to 1996, and full text of all Presidents' inaugural addresses.
Chiefs of State and Cabinet Members of Foreign Governments - If you need to know who the president of the Republic of Guatemala is or the Minister of the Interior of the State of Qatar, check out this site. You simply select from the alphabetic listing of countries for a listing of cabinet members and chiefs of state for a specific country. Unfortunately, you may not search for an individuals name. These listings are updated by the Central Intelligence Agency.
De Imperatoribus Romanis: An Online Encyclopedia of Roman Emperors - Use this incredible site to retrieve short biographical essays of all the Roman emperors from the accession of the Emperor Augustus to the death of the Emperor Constantine XI Palaeologus. Each essay on this site, which is peer reviewed, is written by a scholar and is accompanied by a bibliography, illustrations, and footnotes. To find an individual emperor, simply click on the Index of Emperors and select the appropriate hypertext link. If you prefer, use the alphabetical list of emperors which is part of the Imperial Index. You can also use the Index of Imperial Stemmata to obtain the same information. Ranging from brief but detailed biographies to extensive and well-written articles.
The Mad Monarchs Series - This incredible site is a compilation of a "monthly series of short biographies of the personal lives of history's mad monarchs, sadistic sultans, terrible tsars, crazy caesars and deranged dukes." Categories include Crazy Caesars of Rome, Vicious Vikings of Sweden, and Kinky Kings of Spain! Each biography is well-written with footnotes, a bibliography and links to related sites. Also check out the genealogy of the royal family of the Netherlands as well as the late Princess Dianas genealogy complete with links. There are also links to other royal sites if you dont find what you seek here.
Political Graveyard - Which politicians were killed in duels? Which died in train stations or on planes? Which politicians were Masons or Shriners? The main source for these answers and many others is the Biographical Directory of the U.S. Congress (1989), but the webmaster also obtains information from many other biographical sources including state legislative manuals, The Congressional Directory, newspaper obituaries, library vertical files, and dozens of genealogists and political historians. So far, he includes everyone who served in the Presidency or Vice-Presidency, the Cabinet, the U.S. Congress, and the U.S. Supreme Court, or as Governor of any state. The relative handful of people listed for other offices (state posts and mayoralties) are mostly people who also served in the positions just mentioned. Politicians (over 18,000) are listed in alphabetical order, by state and offices held, by state and country of birth or death, by date born or died, and by many other categories.
POTUS: Presidents of the United States - From the excellent Internet Public Library. Here you will find background information, election results, cabinet members, presidency highlights, and some odd facts on each of the presidents. Links to biographies, historical documents, audio and video files, and other presidential sites are also included to enrich this site. Select the president you want information about from the chronological list or select from an alphabetic list of all names in the database, including cabinet members, spouses and Vice-Presidents. There are biographies of Vice-Presidents and First Ladies. If you don't know which president you are interested in, perhaps the name or subject indexes will help. Check this site out for presidential nicknames, religion, education and political party information.
Presidents of the United States - From the White House itself, these are excellent biographies with presidential portraits, presidential quotations, inaugural addresses and links to presidential libraries which have extensive information. This is in addition to basic biographical information. This site also has biographies of First Ladies which you can link to from the top of each Presidents page. The information comes from the books, The Living White House, The White House: An Historical Guide, The Presidents of the United States, and The First Ladies, which are published by the White House Historical Association with the cooperation of the National Geographic Society Washington, D.C.
Rulers - Need to know who the Governor of Pitcairn Island is? How about the Secretary General of the Organization of American States? This site contains lists of heads of state and heads of government of all currently existing countries and territories. Also included are the subdivisions of some countries as well as some international organizations. There is a separate listing of foreign ministers. Unfortunately, you can not search for names. You must browse through an alphabetic list of countries. You will find not only current heads but former heads of state and government as well. Birth, death and ruling years are given but be sure to read the disclaimer about these. Also check out the Chronicle of Relevant Events Since 1996 for a day-by-day play of happenings around the world related to world leaders.
Uncle Sam Whos Who in the Government - Brought to you by the University of Memphis Regional Depository Library, this well-organized site links to biographies of the members of the Executive Branch and Cabinet, Congressional committee members, including Special and Joint Committees, the House of Representatives, and the Senate as well as the administrators of selected federal agencies, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and the Supreme Court Justices. These links take you directly to the government sites with the pertinent and current biographical information. At the bottom of the page are listed several other useful sites, including the link to The Presidents Resource and Governor E-Mail Addresses and Web Sites. The latter is particularly useful as all state governors are listed with links to biographical and political material.
U.S. Congressional Directory - Browse through an alphabetic listing or select a state, House or Senate Committee, or key leadership position to find a particular House or Senate representative. Do you need to know if Henry Gonzalez was born in San Antonio? When Kay Bailey Hutchison was born? Or who Lamar Smiths Legislative Director is? Chicano! Biographies - Biographical sketches are presented here of individuals featured in the PBS series Chicano! History of the Mexican American Civil Rights Movement. The biographies are quite short but may provide you a start. You will find people here like San Antonian, Rosie Castro, as well as non-Hispanics such as John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson. Their biographies reflect their involvement in Hispanic affairs.
Famous Hispanics in the World and History - In both Spanish and English, this site covers over 200 Hispanics from around the world and throughout time. Browse the alphabetical list or choose from one of several categoriesAntiquity, Musicians, Nobel Prizes, Painters, Scientists, Sports, U.S. Military, Women and Writers. Most of the names are hyperlinked to a short biography listing birth and death dates and achievements but there are a few waiting to be updated still. You can get a short bio on the Armys first Hispanic Medal of Honor winner, a medieval Spanish writer, and a Mexican revolutionary all at the same site.
The Invention Dimension Inventor of the Week Archives - Based on the Lemelson-MIT Prize Program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Administered by MIT and based at the Sloan School of Management, these awards consist of the world's largest single prize for invention and innovation, the annual half-million dollar Lemelson-MIT Prize, as well as the annual Lemelson-MIT Lifetime Achievement Award. Famous inventors such as Alexander Graham Bell and Samuel Morse are covered as well as more obscure names such as Lyda Newman, the inventor of the synthetic-bristled hairbrush and James Wright, creator of Silly Putty. Some biographies include illustrations and detailed information about the invention as well as the inventor.
National Inventors Hall of Fame - The National Inventors Hall of Fame celebrates the creative and entrepreneurial spirit of great inventors. The creative genius of invention is showcased through exhibits and presentations which allow visitors to experience the excitement of discovery, creativity, and imagination. The Selection Committee is composed of representatives from national scientific and technical organizations. Browse an alphabetic index, a list by date of induction or by invention, or perform a keyword search. Useful for finding a biography of the man who invented the calculator, the microphone, or even the Zeolite catalyst! Each biography includes an illustration of the person, birth and death dates, and information about influences on the inventors life, family, education, patents and inventions.
Biographies of Women Mathematicians - Covering over 140 outstanding women in the field of mathematics, this site from Agnes Scott College illustrates the numerous achievements of each woman and often includes a photograph and brief comments. Authors and contributors are listed along with a list of references. There are cross-referenced hyperlinks included in the text. You can browse the list of names chronologically or alphabetically and review the list of other resources to try. There is even a list of the first women to receive Ph.D.s in mathematics and which universities they attended. The names are linked to the womens biographies. A good choice to use when you have a student selecting a famous woman for a report.
History of Mathematics Biographies - Here is a big homework helper. How many mathematical biography questions do you get every year? This site is sure to help. You can perform a keyword search, select from an alphabetic listing or browse the biographies chronologically. You can also browse a listing of female mathematicians. Each biography includes birth and death dates and places including a map of the birthplace. Major works and accomplishments, an extensive list of references of books and articles and a list of other web sites to try all make this a first place to stop when you get these questions.
Mathematicians of the Seventeenth and Eighteenth Centuries - Although not as comprehensive as the previous site, this should be mentioned as it covers quite a few mathematicians not represented there. Taken from A Short Account of the History of Mathematics by W. W. Rouse Ball (4th Edition, 1908), mathematicians highlighted here are from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Mathematicians are listed chronologically but you may select an alphabetic list if you prefer. Some of the biographies are short but some are quite lengthy with birth and death information, work history, and detailed information about books, papers and theories written by the mathematicians.

Civilopedia - Biographical data, such as birth and death dates, pre- and post-war occupations and war involvement are presented here for both Confederate and Union Generals.
Military and Diplomatic Biography - Approximately 100 biographies are presented here by the Information Resource Centre at the Canadian Forces College. They range from Robert E. Lee to Joseph Stalin. Each entry includes at least one biographical essay and a picture.
WWI Biographical Dictionary - An alphabetical index of biographical sketches are presented here of a large number of prominent figures from World War I. Small photographs accompany each biography. A wide range of authors have contributed their efforts to provide the Biographical Dictionary of WWI. Their initials appear at the end of each biography. Click on Authors of these biographies to get a listing of those initials along with the authors' names and a brief description of their research interests.
World War II Related Articles - A nice list of articles, most of which are biographical in nature, from the online Grolier Encyclopedia. Only the most famous people from the war are presented here.
All-Music Guide - You can search directly on a musician's name or select 1400 Music Styles. From there, you have a choice of popular musical genres including rock, folk, New Age, country and jazz. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductees - An alphabetical listing of the inductees of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Biographical essays are provided for each person or group. Catholic Online Saints and Angels - Biographical entries ranging from one to three paragraphs are provided here for a very large number of saints. You can either browse the index or search for a particular saint.
Complete List of Popes - Chronological list of all of the Popes arranged chronologically with biographical information presented from the online Catholic Encyclopedia.
Patron Saints Index - This site offers an index to saints arranged alphabetically or by nationality. You are given a brief biography of the saint as well as links to other biographical sites for many of these saints.
4,000 Years of Women in Science - Initially listed alphabetically, you can also browse a chronological listing or a field of study listing. Some of these biographies are REALLY short with name, occupation and birthday only, while others include a little more information about achievements. None are particularly long. This is a good site for identifying someone.
The Faces of Science: African Americans in the Sciences - Sponsored by the Louisiana State University Libraries. Profiled here are African American men and women who have contributed to the advancement of science and engineering. Categorized by specialty (chemists, biologists, inventors, engineers, mathematicians, etc.) or alphabetically, each profile includes a biography, photograph, list of accomplishments, and a bibliography of books and magazines that contain further information on that particular scientist. This site also has additional links to information about minorities in the sciences.
Great Canadian Scientists - There are many great scientists in Canada but for the project only about 20 are profiled in depth. There are 150 more Canadian scientists, many of whom may be as great or even greater than the ones profiled in detail. Only brief descriptions of their lives and work are given, including birth and death dates and place as well as field of scholarship, description of work and source of information. The twenty scientists profiled have extensive biographies with information about their scientific discoveries, family information, awards, degrees, and much more.

This fantastic site provides a source list with abbreviations which are used next the scientists names so you know the source of the information provided for each biography. People in the West - This interactive biographical dictionary from a site featuring a PBS documentary called The West provides concise profiles of the men and women featured in THE WEST, as well as information about many individuals who are mentioned only in passing. In most cases, the profiles offer additional details about the lives of these historical figures, together with some comments on their significance for historians. First click on People of the West on the sidebar and then on Show Contents to bring up a listing of names from Stephen F. Austin to Brigham Young. Covering famous Native Americans, gunslingers and frontiersmen, this site has well-written, entertaining and lengthy biographies with hyperlinks to related biographies.
Distinguished Women of Past and Present - Includes writers, educators, scientists, heads of state, politicians, civil rights crusaders, artists, entertainers and others. Search by field of activity (listed chronologically) or by name for biographical information pulled from sources all over the Internet and supplemented with excerpts from Microsofts Encarta encyclopedia. Fields of activity range from agriculture to stage and screen. You will find biographical information on women here that you probably cant find in print.
