San Antonio Water System - Here you can get aquifer level readings and statistics, read requests for proposals and bid announcements, look for a job, preview the SAWS Board agenda and even learn about water treatment, recycling and conservation.

ARTS AND MUSEUMS

Institute of Texan Cultures - Visit the Institute's website to learn about the history and culture of Texas. Take a tour of the exhibit floor, view art exhibits from the Texas Folklife Festival, and learn how you can become a member of the Institute. There are also great links for teaching resources and other community related information.

McNay Art Museum - Take a tour of the Museum collections, learn more about the history of the McNay, and access information on events taking place on the museum grounds. You can also access information on featured artists and archived exhibits.

San Antonio Symphony - What do The Pops, Stained Glass, and Classics have in common? They're the names of different series of concerts starring at the San Antonio Symphony. At their website you can access a schedule of concerts, educational and outreach programs, and ticket and pricing information.

Witte Museum - "The Witte features history and science exhibits, major national traveling exhibits, family events, live gallery theater, and overnight camp-ins for children. Highlights include Texas dinosaurs, an Egyptian exhibit and mummy and five historic homes from San Antonio on the grounds."

BUSINESS

City of San Antonio Economic Development Department - This site has important links to special services to help local businesses: an international office of the City that assists businesses in doing business with Mexico, exporting, investment and promotion; market research and technical assistance to businesses interested in selling their goods to government agencies, and much more.

The Home Address - This is the web site for the Greater San Antonio Builders Association and is meant to be a resource for people interested in the home-building industry in San Antonio. It has three major links -- Builders’ Directory, New Home Information Center and Remodelors Council. In the New Home Information Center there is a map of San Antonio on which you can click an area and it will bring up the builders who build in that area of town. You can pull up names of builders by price range also. There is also an Associate’s Directory to help find suppliers for specific tasks.

San Antonio Business Journal - Obtain archived full-text articles from over twenty city business journals, including San Antonio, Austin, Dallas, and Houston going back to June, 1996. The print edition is not recreated here, but top weekly news stories from the paper are available. Browse by issue date, search by keyword, or search by industry. Top 25 Lists are not available.

San Antonio Directory of Exporters and Support Organizations - Prepared by the City of San Antonio International Affairs Department, this is a listing of over 400 local and regional exporters. Also lists San Antonio's top exports by category and sales.

San Antonio Economic Development Foundation - This private, non-profit organization assists outside business and industry with relocating to San Antonio. Its staff will provide economic statistics and specialized research to help businesses analyze the San Antonio economy. This site lists the major employers, population and labor force demographics, and office and industrial space vacancies.

SCORE  - This is a non-profit association sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration providing counseling to small business owners. This program matches volunteers, who are retired executives, with small businesses to give them advice on how to be successful. SCORE also produces workshops and seminars.

Monthly City Calendar - Put out by the City of San Antonio's Office of Community Relations, this calendar is available in .pdf format.  

Convention and Visitors Bureau - Visit the San Antonio Convention and Visitors Bureau calendar of events. You have access to 1998 calendar of events, Upcoming major events, Sporting events schedule, and other event information sources.

What's Happening (Community Calendar) - Available at the Express-News online, the What's Happening calendar is an expanded community calendar that offers a 12-month look at major civic, charitable, cultural and entertainment events in San Antonio and surrounding areas.

Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce - Here you can obtain ordering information for Chamber publications, find out about upcoming events, read selections from the Chamber newsletter, and find out how to become a member.

North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce - Profiles of chamber member businesses, a listing of upcoming events, and member news.

San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce - This site has a good link to an international trade guide that lists addresses of U.S. and Mexican offices and government agencies that help businesses. Also has a link to chamber events, a list of the staff and Board of Directors and yellow pages to members.

COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES

Alamo Community College - The Alamo Community College homepage allows you to access St. Philip's, San Antonio, Palo Alto, and Northwest Vista Colleges. You'll also find information on financial aid, scholarships, course schedules, and much more.

Northwest Vista College - Northwest Vista College is the only community college in San Antonio’s northwest sector. This site is under construction but currently provides information on the college and its mission as well as class schedules. Keep checking for new and updated information.

Our Lady of the Lake University - Visit this website to find information on the different schools (Arts, Business, Science), Weekend College, and other special programs available at Our Lady of the Lake University. You will find information on alumni, campus organizations, and registration. You can also access the St. Florence Library and visit the online catalog.

Palo Alto College - Although most of this website is currently under construction, you can access the following department pages: American History, Computer Literacy, Computer Science, Palo Alto Reader's Forum, and Philosophy and Humanities. Coming soon will be information on academics, admissions, financial services, and a schedule of classes.

San Antonio College - This website offers a wealth of information on the history and development of San Antonio College. You're provided with information on the registration process, financial aid, and the academic calendar. You can access information on faculty and staff, events happening on campus, and student organizations.

St. Mary's University - Academic programs, library and instructional services, and a history of the university are a few of the items you can access at St. Mary's University homepage. You'll find a wealth of information on financial aid, including scholarships, grants, and loans. You can also find information on student services and campus organizations.

St. Philip's College - Department information, class schedules, and programs of study are a few of the items you can access at St. Philip's website. You can also access the library and financial assistance information. You'll also find information on online and telephone registration procedures.

Trinity University - At the Trinity University website you can access information on admissions for both graduate and undergraduate programs, courses of study, and financial assistance information. You'll also have access to special events and exhibits, student organizations, and the library.

The University of Incarnate Word - Whether you're an incoming freshman needing information on admissions, or an alumni looking for graduate information, The University of Incarnate Word website has the information you need. You can find information on campus activities, admission requirements, and alumni news.

The University of Texas at San Antonio - Need answers to admissions questions, advice for academic success, or want to make a business connection with alumni? The University of Texas at San Antonio has the answers for you. You can access information on tuition, fees, academic advising and much, much more.

The University of Texas Health Science Center - Learn more about the history and development of the Health Science Center, the different programs of study, and research projects in progress at the Health Science Center website. COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS

Gay and Lesbian Community Center of San Antonio - The mission of the Gay and Lesbian Community Center is to "provide a non-judgmental, apolitical home, for the social, emotional and physical well-being of all people, primarily members of the lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, and trans-identified communities." Although the website is somewhat under construction, you can still access information about the history of the organization, programs and services available, and volunteer opportunities.

Neighborhood Link - Neighborhood Link is a community network providing San Antonio metro neighborhoods with their own free, interactive web sites featuring information, communication, and commerce. The information on these web sites can include meeting notices, newsletters, neighborhood boundaries and bulletin boards for posting garage sales, lost & found etc.You will also find links to the mayor's office, the proper city council member and to national and state groups. Enter your zip code for a listing of neighborhood organizations in your area. All 248 neighborhood associations registered with the city are included as well as over 400 other neighborhood organizations.

The Rape Crisis Center - Learn about the history of the Rape Crisis Center and information on education, training, support, and other services available to the community. The news and reference section contains reprints of old newspapers and magazines, press releases, and statistics about rape. You can also access information about volunteering at the Rape Crisis Center.

San Antonio Area Chapter of the American Red Cross - Need information on how to survive a weather emergency, want to brush up on your water safety skills, or want information on life saving classes? The place for you is the San Antonio Area Red Cross website. You can receive information on the latest hurricane and storm reports, product safety, and volunteer opportunities.

United Way - Learn more about The United Way organization and the programs and facilities it supports. You can access information about the Board of Trustees for the San Antonio area, information on the United Way help line, and information on how you can register as a community volunteer.

Fiesta Texas - Information about rides, prices and events at our local Six Flags theme park is presented here.

San Antonio Botanical Gardens - Take a virtual tour and learn abut the history of the San Antonio Botanical Gardens. In addition to listing operating hours and admission fees, you will also find a wealth of information on educational programs, events and classes offered.

San Antonio Zoo - This site provides general information on the San Antonio Zoo and allows users to take a virtual tour of the Zoo's animal collections. You can also access information on Zoo memberships and the "adopt-an-animal" program. Also provides links to other zoos, aquariums, and botanical societies worldwide.

Schlitterbahn Waterpark and Resort - This waterpark's website offers all the information you need to plan your day of fun. You can access the schedule of operating hours for 1997, directions, and the price guide. You will also find information on the riverside resorts, special events, and employment opportunities.

SeaWorld - Directions, ticket prices, park hours and information on the latest and greatest attractions are all available on the Sea World of Texas Website. You can also reserve and/or purchase vacation packages online, request brochures to be mailed to you, and you can e-mail a postcard of any of the Sea World parks to a friend.

Splashtown San Antonio - Find schedules, fees and a tour of this water park.

Texas Folklife Festival - Celebrate the unique cultural diversity of Texas during this annual celebration.

The Medical Gazette - This weekly medical newspaper has been serving the community since 1979. At this website you will find the history and subscription information about this newspaper. You will also find a brief list of medical related links.

La Prensa de San Antonio - Known as San Antonio's "premier bilingual newspaper", La Prensa offers a wealth of information on local and national news. You can access stories on the week in business, sports and entertainment, or browse the archives of 1996 and 1997. En español

City of San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department -  Find city park locations and histories as well as a calendar of events.

GoCampingAmerica – Central Texas -  Click on the map of central Texas to find information about various campgrounds and RV parks.

San Antonio Missions National Historical Park - Maintained by the National Park Service, this website provides all the information needed to assist you as you prepare to visit the historic Missions. You will find basic information such as addresses, fees and rates, operating hours, and general directions to the Missions. You are also provided with a recommendation of activities for park use, availability of trails, and a list of special events and programs.

Texas Parks and Wildlife - A comprehensive website that provides brief profiles on all state parks within 100 miles of San Antonio. You are provided with the history, park activities, location, and facilities available at each park. You will also find details on the wildlife and nature study for each park.

Wild Texas: San Antonio Area Parks - A thorough website featuring park and recreation area profiles, within a 3 hour drive or less from San Antonio. You also have access to general information such as hours, fees, and location (includes map). You are given an overview and history of the park, which includes food and lodging availability and outdoor activities. This site is maintained by Shannon Blackburn, an avid outdoor enthusiast and San Antonio resident. Shannon also provides her personal park experiences and recommended activities.

San Antonio Missions Baseball - The San Antonio Missions Baseball Website offers a season schedule, ticket information, and team history. You can also view the 1997 team photo album, order team merchandise, and link to other Texas League and Professional Baseball websites.

San Antonio Polo Club - Besides offering information on the Club, this site also provides general information about polo.

TELEVISION STATIONS

KABB - At this Fox Network Affiliate (channel 29) you can access the latest headlines in San Antonio and the nation as well as the local and national weather forecasts. You will also have access to staff biographies and employment opportunities.

KENS - This CBS Network news station (channel 5) offers local and world news stories. You will also find short term forecasts and pollen conditions for the city. This website also provides sneak previews of CBS programs and employment opportunities at KENS.

KLRN - The PBS affiliate (channel 9) is the public television station for a 33-county region in South and Central Texas. The site includes information on programming, membership, educational services and resources.

KMOL - The NBC Network affiliate (channel 4) offers local, regional, and national headlines. Aside from weather and sports you can access feature programs such as 4 San Antonio Living, One for the Children, and En Mi Barrio. You also have access to staff biographies, KMOL chat room, and much more.

KRRT - The UPN Network affiliate (channel 35) provides station and programming information. You will find a schedule of shows for the month with brief annotations and employment opportunities with KRRT.

KSAT - The ABC Network affiliate (channel 12) provides news, weather, sports and other feature programs such as Behind the Kitchen Door.   You can also find out about the on-air personalities, programming, KSAT Chat and more.

KVDA - This San Antonio Spanish television (channel 60) news station offers updated and archived news stories. You can access station information, tour the studio, and view a programming schedule with brief annotations about the shows. En español

WEATHER

Weather Channel (San Antonio) - Need to know the forecast and current conditions for San Antonio? Then the Weather Channel is the site for you. Updated regularly throughout the day, the Weather Channel not only gives you the current conditions but also provides a five day forecast with the high and low temperature for each day.

The Weather Underground (Texas) - Hosted by the Skywarn Texas Website comes the Weather Underground Homepage. You will have access to current conditions and forecasts for San Antonio. You can find the current temperature, dewpoint, wind, sunrise, and sunset. You can also access an extended forecast for the state of Texas.
